There’s nothing like a warm bowl of homemade soup — especially when it’s made with love, fresh vegetables, and a little Southern flavor. This creamy chicken noodle soup is one of my go-to comfort meals for cold days, busy mom nights, or anytime we need something hearty and filling.

It’s rich, flavorful, and super easy to make. Plus, it’s kid-approved and perfect for leftovers!

Let’s get into it.

  • Full of flavor

  • Easy one-pot meal

  • Perfect for busy moms

Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • Chicken (breast or thighs, cooked and shredded)

  • Thyme

  • Parsley

  • Black pepper

  • Salt

  • Cajun seasoning (light sprinkle)

  • Garlic powder

  • Onion powder

For the Soup:

  • 1 can cream of chicken soup

  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 tablespoon chicken bouillon

  • Fresh carrots, chopped

  • Fresh celery, chopped

  • Onion, chopped

  • Potatoes, diced

  • Egg noodles

  • Extra seasoning (same as chicken)

  • Dried parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

Step 1: Season & Cook the Chicken

Season your chicken with:

Paprika, thyme, parsley, pepper, salt, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder.

In a skillet, cook and lightly blacken the chicken until fully done. Set aside and shred or chop.

Step 2: Prepare the Soup Base

In a bowl, mix:

  • Cream of chicken soup

  • Cream of mushroom soup

  • 1 cup water

  • Chicken bouillon

Stir until smooth and set aside.

Step 3: Cook the Vegetables

In a large pot, add your chopped:

Carrots, celery, onions, and potatoes.

Let them cook for a few minutes until slightly soft.

Step 4: Build the Soup

Pour the soup mixture into the pot with the veggies. Stir well.

Add the cooked chicken back in.

Re-season the soup using the same seasonings you used on the chicken.

Step 5: Add the Noodles

Stir in the egg noodles and mix everything together.

Cover the pot and let it simmer until:

  • Noodles are tender

  • Potatoes are soft

  • Soup is thick and creamy

Step 6: Serve & Enjoy

Top with dried parsley and serve warm.

Grab a blanket, turn on a good show, and enjoy.

Jae’s Tip

If you like your soup extra creamy, add a splash of milk or heavy cream at the end.

For more spice, add a little extra Cajun seasoning or hot sauce.

Perfect For:
